I was born in Boston, MA, USA, in April, 1965 (Stardate: 21128.4). I grew up in Bethesda, MD, and went to Walt Whitman High School. I attended Brandeis University, and received my B.A. in Computer Science from the Michtom School of Computer Science in 1987. During my time at Brandeis, I also spent a semester at The University of Aberdeen, in Scotland.
Two weeks after graduation, I moved to Frankfurt, Germany, where I worked as a project leader for repas GmbH (RIP!), a mid-sized software house. We developed realtime process control systems for factories, using the QNX Operating System. during my stay in Germany, I also attended The University of Southern California (go figure!), where I earned an M.S. in Systems Management, from the Institute of Safety and Systems Management in 1992.
I finished my Sc.D. in Computer Science in May 1999, in the Department of Computer Science at The George Washington University, and worked in the same department as an assistant professor until June 2005.
I joined the Department of Computer Science at Worcester Polytechnic Institute in July 2005.
My area of research is interaction techniques for immersive virtual environments.
